Step by step
- Locate an Underground Cabin below the Overworld. Maps from mineshafts or cartographers may help.
- Collect Cave Tablets and look for a Cave Compendium.
- Use paper and the Spelunkery Table to translate a tablet into a Cave Codex; do not interrupt the minigame.
- Combine a Cave Codex with paper to craft a map for that cave biome.
- Prepare for a long expedition: target biomes may be thousands of blocks away. Carry supplies and a way home.
