An Electric Furnace smelts supported items with EU instead of conventional fuel.

An EU-powered smelting machine. It can follow a Macerator in a production line when a supported recipe accepts the processed item.
What it does and how it works
The Electric Furnace appears in IC2 Classic development history. Actual smelting speed, power demand and material recipes are dependent on the installed build.
Materials and prerequisites
Electric Furnace, suitable EU source, verified smelting input, cleared output and optional Macerator for upstream processing.
These are prerequisite categories, not a guaranteed crafting grid. Confirm exact item counts in the installed 1.19 recipe viewer.
Step-by-step setup
- Check that your chosen input has a supported smelting recipe.
- Place the Furnace on a compatible EU circuit.
- Run one input item to confirm output and operating behavior.
- Connect Macerator and Furnace in sequence only after both work independently.
Example setup or workflow
Conceptual flow, not a real-game screenshot or an assertion about exact block faces.
Before preparing components for the next machine, process one eligible ore in the Macerator and test its output in the Furnace. That test confirms whether the resource chain works in your modpack.
Common problems and troubleshooting
| Symptom | Test or remedy |
|---|---|
| No progress | Check EU and recipe input. |
| Machine is full | Remove blocked or incompatible output items. |
| Dust will not smelt | Check the recipe for the exact item ID. |
