IndustrialCraft 2 Classic: the technology survival guide

IndustrialCraft 2 Classic (IC2 Classic) adds a technology progression built around generating EU energy, processing resources and automating Minecraft production. If you remember older modded survival servers, this is the style of long-term engineering gameplay KRAYMO is developing around.

Why IndustrialCraft 2 feels different

Every major upgrade depends on earlier infrastructure. You start by collecting metals and fuel, then build power generation, a processing machine and a reliable energy network. Additional machines make those resources more useful and open new engineering possibilities. The outcome is a working base rather than a one-time upgrade.

Core machine types

A macerator processes ores and other materials; an electric furnace smelts items using power; a compressor and extractor support additional processing chains. Exact recipes, efficiency and machine behaviour can vary with the IC2 Classic version and modpack configuration. Check the in-game recipe viewer before investing valuable components.

EU: generation and distribution

A generator supplies EU, cables transfer it, and storage blocks buffer demand when multiple machines run. In some versions, energy tiers and voltage mismatches can damage equipment. Read our EU energy guide before wiring an expensive machine.

Automation and long-term survival

Industrial bases become more interesting when machines work together: ore intake, processing, intermediate storage and output. Automation should remain within a server's performance limits. The next step is our progression guide, which walks through an example development path.

What is confirmed on KRAYMO?

KRAYMO is being developed and tested with a focus on classic industrial gameplay. This article describes general IC2 Classic mechanics, not a promise that every item or recipe is present in the current public alpha. See the modpack information and verified server status for current details.
